Kelly joined the Walker ElderCare Services Board in 2008. He is the principal of Doran Companies. Kelly has been involved in the real estate development business for over twenty years, after an earlier career in commercial banking. In the past twenty years, Kelly has developed, constructed, leased and managed many millions of square feet of shopping centers, office space and commercial space. He has won many awards for projects he has developed and built from organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers ("ICSC"), the Minnesota Shopping Center Association ("MSCA"), The Minnesota Business Journal, the National Association of Office and Industrial Parks ("NAIOP")and others. Kelly is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and also holds a MBA from the Carlson School of Business. He is an active member of ICSC, NAIOP and MSCA. He has participated in many positions in the MSCA including committee chairperson, board member and president.
Gretchen joined the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2008. As the Director of Local Marketing and Division Vice President of Marketing Field Engagement for Ameriprise Financial, Inc. in Minneapolis, she is responsible for leading a team of people to driver overall company client acquisition results through the use of local and corporate marketing programs. Gretchen received a B.S. degree in Marketing from Arizona State University.

Norma joined the Walker Board of Directors in 1982. She has served as Chair since 1995, and as such, sits on the Walker Methodist Foundation Board and all Walker Methodist committees. She served as interim CEO during 1997 and 1998. Additionally, she serves on the Foundation Board Affairs Committee. Norma was named the Minnesota Health & Housing Alliance (MHHA) Trustee of the Year in 2006. Her other social and civic affiliations include working with a variety of Minnesota Annual Conference United Methodist Councils and National United Methodist agencies, as well as service as Chair of the United Hospital Board of Directors, Chair of the United Hospital Foundation, Board member of Allina Corporation and Chair of the Metro Hospital Trustee Council. She also serves on the Board of The Friends of St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and on the Board of the Women’s Organization of the Minnesota History Center. She attended Ancker Hospital School of Nursing and St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul.
Bruce has been a Walker Board member since 1971 when his mother was a resident in the Raines building of Walker Methodist Health Center. Bruce’s father was involved on the Walker Board from 1945 to 1966 and served as Chaplain of the original home. Through the years Bruce has chaired various Walker affiliate Boards. Currently, he sits on the Governance Committee and chairs the Quality Committee. Before retirement Bruce worked for 3M Company in various management capacities in the Magnetic Products Division. At the time of his retirement, he was involved in raw material descriptions for environmental factors and in developing an improved backing product for the video tapes 3M manufactured. Bruce holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Paul was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Baord in 2007. He sits on the Foundation Investment Committee and the Foundation Gift Planning Commitee. He is the founder and current principal of Palisade Asset Management. Prior to founding that company, he managed investments at his financial planning firm of Felten & Kenworthy. Previously, he was founder and chairman of Source Advisors, Inc. Paul serves on several local boards, charitable and industry organizations. He was president of the Twin Cities chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners and has held the Certified Financial Planner deisgnation since 1975. Paul holds both a Bacelor of Arts and a Masters in Business from Creighton University.
Rob was appointed to the Walker ElderCare Services Board of Directors in July, 2006. Currently, he is the President and CEO of the Area Partnership for Economic Development (APEX) in Duluth, MN. Prior to this post, he taught in the marketing department at the University of Minnesota, Duluth campus. Before moving to Duluth in 2003, West founded Westerlund Products Corporation in Minneapolis, after inventing a line of storage and organization housewares products. His past experience also includes owning several advertising agencies in Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota, including forming Insight Strategy Group, a strategic marketing consulting firm focused on healthcare, manufacturing and environmental services. Currently, Mr. West serves on the Board of Directors of the Lake Superior Zoo, Little Treasures and Mercury Waste Solutions, Inc. He holds a B.A. degree from Western Michigan University and earned an MBA while working in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Arnold was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2007. He currently serves on the Foundation Investment Comittee. He is Chair and CEO of Shotwell Company. Over the years, Arnold's social and civic affiliations have included Toastmasters, church council, Cub Scouts, United Fund Drive, Minneapolis Aquatennial, St. Louis Park Rotary, and the Vision for St. Louis Park Committee. Most recently he has been on the Boards of the Teachers Park Avenue Residence and the St. Louis Park Emergency Program. Arnold earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science, Law degree from William Mitchell College.
Christine was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2007. She currently serves on the Foundation Board Affairs Committee as well as the Foundation Funds Development Committee. Christine is Vice President at Private Bank Minnesota where she manages banking relationships with clients. Prior to her employment with Private Bank Minnesota, she worked in banking with US Bank and National City Bank in Minneapolis. She is currently involved with the Volunteers of America and the AARP Foundation Money Management Program. Christine graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University, Tempe with a BA in English Literature. She also participated in the MBA program at the University of St. Thomas, and has her guardian and conservator training from Volunteers of America.
Jon joined the Walker Methodist Board in 2007. He is an attorney and partner in the Mackall, Crounse & Moore law firm in Minneapolis. He advises clients on all aspects of organizing, financing, operating, reorganizing, merging and acquiring businesses. Prior to Mackall, Crounse & Moore, Jon worked as an attorney for Moss & Barnett in Minneapolis, and Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith and Frederick in Duluth, MN. He also worked as an accountant with Alliant Techsystems, Inc. prior to earning his law degree. Jon is an elected member and serves as the Chair of the Mounds View School Board (ISD #621). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Minnesota Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (the MN lawyers assistance program), and is past Treasurer of that organization. Jon graduated magna cum laude from the College of St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, and earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Bruce was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2007. He is serving on the Foundation Board Affairs Committee and the Foundation Funds Development Committee. Bruce is the General Manager of Lakeview Industries in Chaska, Minnesota, where he oversees all aspects of the business including Sales, Finance, and Operations. Prior to his employment with Lakeview Industries, he has held positions with Star Exhibits & Environments, Boss Works, Inc. and Conklin Company in Minneapolis. His volunteer work in the community includes working with Habitat for Humanity. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, and has completed post graduate courses at St. Thomas University.
Dale was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2007. Currently, he is a member of the Foundation Funds Development Committee. He is President of Watson-Forsberg Company, a construction company. As President, he oversees preconstruction and construction services, bonding, banking and insurance. In the community, Dale has been involved with Habitat for Humanity, Redeemer Center for Life, St. Thomas Center for Family Enterprise, Svenska Sallskapet, and Westwood Lutheran Church. Dale earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Merrywayne has been a Walker board member since 1989. She currently is the Secretary of the Board, and also sits on the Executive Committee, Governance Committee and Quality Committee. Before retirement Merrywayne owned and operated a travel agency. As Chair of the Anoka Housing and Redevelopment Authority in the 1980s, Merrywayne worked with Walker to build a HUD building for low and moderate income seniors (Walker on the River) as well as a market rate senior living building (Walker Plaza). Both of these projects are in downtown Anoka. During that period Walker invited her to join the Board. She continues to serve on the Anoka Housing and Redevelopment Authority besides being a Charter Member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, a member of PEO Sisterhood, Youth First, Anoka County Historical Society, Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce, Director in Lake George Conservation Club, Riverfest Volunteer, North Central Business District design team and has served as Moderator, Trustee, Deacon and presently as Historian at the 1st Congregational Church in Anoka. Merrywayne has a B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota.
Elaine has served on Walker Boards since 1973. Currently, she is a member of the Walker Methodist Foundation Board. Elaine has many other social and civic affiliations including Minneapolis Club, Minneapolis Woman’s Club, Hazelden Foundation, St. Mary’s Clecerdi Foundation, Johnson Institute Foundation, St. Vladamire’s Seminary Foundation, Walker Art Center and the Archie D. & Bertha H. Walker Foundation.
Lynn joined the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2001. She serves on the Funds Development Committee and is Chair of Planned Giving. She worked for Dain Rauscher for more than 30 years and retired as Vice President/Manager of Training. Since 1975, Lynn has served on the Minneapolis Red Cross Board and was part of the unification which created the Twin Cities Red Cross Chapter. She served on the Red Cross National Board of Governors and Chaired the Task Force which designed the organization’s new structure. Since 1996, she has served on the Viking Council Boy Scouts Board and was part of the consolidation which created Northern Star Council where she is Vice President of Volunteer Resources. Lynn was President of Minneapolis Rotary 2005-2006 and is a member of Rotary’s Foundation Board. She is a lifelong member of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, past president of the church’s Foundation, and is currently the Secretary of the Trustees. She is Secretary of CFA for the Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Lynn has a B. S. degree from Northwestern University.
Gaylen joined the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 1997. He was elected to the Walker Methodist Board in 2004, and began serving as Vice Chair for the 2004/2005 term. He also serves on the Executive, Finance and Human Resources Committees of Walker Methodist. He is a member of the Foundation’s Executive Committee, Investments Committee and Chairs the Funds Development Committee. He is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant, and a founding partner with Fortune Financial. Gaylen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota.
Rev. Haun was elected to the Walker Methodist Board in 2003. He serves on the Governance Committee and the Quality Committee. Rev. Haun is an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church and has served in five congregations of diverse size and character since 1972. Currently, he is Pastor of Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church in Golden Valley. Jim serves as a consultant for the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church, working with annual conferences across the country in the development of programs for the support and training of new clergy. He has coached boys and girls soccer teams at Albert Lea High School. He was a member of the United Way of Duluth Agency Review Committee and has been a fundraising consultant for the American Red Cross. Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Theology degree from Southern Methodist University.
Sharon was elected to the Walker Methodist Foundation Board in 2004. She Chairs the Foundation Board Affairs Committee, and as such sits also on the Foundation Executive Committee. She also is a member of the Foundation Funds Development Committee. She is a retired United Methodist minister. Prior to retirement she served Messiah United Methodist Church and River Hills United Methodist Church, specializing in volunteer recruitment, confirmation and pastoral calling. She has been an elementary school teacher in Ohio and Minnesota, and operated her own consulting business - Hegele Resources Unlimited. Currently, Sharon is serving as Education Chairperson on the Minnesota United Methodist Board of Ordained Ministry, registrar for the Metro West District Committee on Ministry for the UMC and serves on the Board of Directors of Beginning Now, a non-profit organization. Sharon’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Education from Ohio University, an M.A. degree in Organizational Leadership from the College of St. Catherine and seminary at United Theological Seminary.
Steve was elected to the Foundation Board in 2005. He serves on the Foundation Funds Development Committee. Now retired, he worked both in the U.S. and abroad for 3M Company for 37 years. His experience includes manufacturing, technical sales and management. Community activities include various volunteer positions at Centennial United Methodist Church, as well as participation in the Kiwanis Club. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee.
Dennis was appointed to the Walker ElderCare Services, Inc. Board when it was established in July of 2006. He is president of Creative Living Groups, Inc., a health care consulting company. He has more than 25 years experience as a licensed hospital and nursing home administrator. Prior to his current position, he was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for the Benedictine Health System, and COO and CFO of Health Dimensions, Inc. Kamstra has served three terms as Chairman of the Board of Care Providers of Minnesota, and has been on the executive committee of that organization for sixteen years. Other Board experience includes serving terms on the Board of the American Health Care Association, the Governor’s moratorium board, Hospice of the Twin Cities, A’viands, a food service management company, and several other industry boards and panels. He is the industry representative on the Governor’s long term care commission. In addition, Kamstra is currently chairman of two non-profit organizations, Living Services Foundation, which owns long term care campuses, and the Metro Visiting Nurses Association, which acts as the public health service for the City of Minneapolis.
George was elected to the Walker Methodist Board in July of 2006. He is Chairman and CEO of Holden Communications, a printing, telemarketing and fulfillment company with five plant locations and eleven sales offices. Prior to working in this family business, he worked in marketing for Proctor & Gamble. George holds degrees from Northwestern University and Harvard Business School.
Jerry joined the Walker Board of Directors in March, 2005. In addition, he was appointed to serve as a director on the Walker ElderCare Services Board when it was established during 2006. He also serves on the Finance Committee. His work experience includes positions as Senior Vice President, The Marshall Group, Inc. in Minneapolis; Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kraus-Anderson Development & Finance Company, in Minneapolis; Vice President & Manager, Commercial Banking, Fleet (Shawmut) Bank, in Hartford CT and Boston, MA; Vice President & Manager, Commercial Real Estate, TCF Bank Savings, in Minneapolis; and Vice President & Manager, U.S. Bancorp, in Minneapolis. He has also worked as a Financial Analyst for Exxon Company USA in Houston, TX, and General Mills in Minneapolis. Jerry is a licensed real estate broker and holds a Series 7 and 63 Securities License - Corporate Finance. He earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Macalester College, St. Paul, MN, and a M.B.A. - Finance degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Schneeman was elected to the Walker Board of Directors in July, 2006. He currently practices medicine at North Clinic in Robbinsdale, MN, where he is Director of the Department of Geriatric Services. Currently, Dr. Schneeman is the medical director of Maranatha Care Center, and serves on several Boards and Advisory Committees, including the Board of Minnesota Medical Directors Association, the Medica MSHO Medical Advisory Committee, the Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Board at St. Therese Nursing Home, and the Preferred One Mental Health Board. Dr. Schneeman earned a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame, and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his residency training at Overlook Hospital in New Jersey, an affiliate of Columbia University. Dr. Schneeman’s vocational interests include advanced care planning techniques, respecting patient autonomy, and improving care for the frail elderly.
Bert joined the Walker Board in 1988 as Treasurer and continues to serve in that capacity for both the Walker Methodist and Walker Methodist Foundation Boards. He also Chairs the Finance Committee and is a member of the Executive Commitee of Walker Methodist. He is Treasurer of the Foundation Executive Committee and serves on the Foundation Investment Committee. Before retirement, Bert was employed by the 3M Company for 38 years. He was a Group Controller with the company at the time of his retirement. His other social and civic affiliations include service on the state and worldwide Board of Finance and Administration of the United Methodist Church, working with the SCORE program doing consulting to small businesses; and, he is an active member of the LIONS Club and the IMA Accounting Society. Bert graduated from the University of Minnesota.
Jon was elected to the Walker Methodist Board in 2004. He currently serves on the Governance Committee. He is an attorney practicing business litigation, with the firm of Fruth, Jamison & Elsass, L.L.P. in Minneapolis. His prior employment included clerking for judges in the Minnesota Court of Appeals and Hennepin County District Court. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
Dwane joined the Walker Boards in September of 1994. Since that time he has Chaired the Walker Methodist Foundation Board and served on the Governance Committee. Currently, he is Vice Chair of the Walker Methodist Foundation Board and sits as a director on the Walker Methodist Board. He serves on the Finance Committee and is Chair of the Foundation Investments Committee. Prior to retirement Dwane was employed by Cargill, Inc. in various financial positions. At the time of his retirement, he held the position of Senior Vice President and Secretary of Wayerosse, Inc., an affiliate of Cargill, and as Assistant Vice President of Cargill, Inc. Dwane’s other social and civic affiliations have included service as a St. Louis Park school board member, as trustee and past President of the Board of Trustees of The Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, as trustee and past president of the United Methodist Foundation, and president of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church Foundation. He has served for 30 years on the Camp Kingswood Board. Dwane holds a B.S. degree from the School of Business, Kansas University.
As President/CEO for Walker Methodist, Lynn is responsible for the overall planning and operations of the organization's non-profit housing and health care properties and businesses, and for-profit development group. Walker serves approximately 2300 seniors in its system.
Lynn was a shareholder with the law firm of Larkin, Hoffman, where she practiced in the areas of Labor and Employment, Health Law, and Litigation working with providers on state and federal regulatory issues, facility and professional licensure, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse, and various business issues. Lynn has an extensive background in the health care administration and management with both the elderly and disabled adults. Lynn first became affiliated with Walker in 1990 when Walker became one of her legal clients. From 1990-2003, Lynn was general counsel for all Walker's legal issues.
Lynn received a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Science degree, and a Behavior Analyst III Certification from the University of Minnesota, dual Master's degrees from the University of St. Thomas in Psychology and Special Education, and her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law.
Lynn is a member of the American, Minnesota State, and Hennepin County Bar Associations, and American Health Lawyers Association. Lynn in a director for Wingspan Life Resources, Inc., a non-profit organization which works with the developmentally disabled adults and Hmong Elders. Lynn is a General Delegate and Minnesota's sole Legal Delegate to the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging (AAHSA). She sits on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance (MHHA), and Chairs MHHA's Regulatory Committee.
Jim joined the Walker Board in 1970 and during that period was Chair for 13 years. During his affiliation with Walker he has served terms as a member on all standing committees, as well as a director of all Walker affiliates. Currently, he sits on the Executive Committee and the Human Resources Committee. He is Chair for the newly formed Advisory Council. In 1984 Jim retired from the First National Bank of Minneapolis after 32 years of service. At the time of his retirement he was Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer. His many social and civic affiliations include service as Chair of the Minneapolis Salvation Army Advisory and Council Boards, Chair of the United Methodist Association of Health and Welfare Ministries Board of Directors, and as a 24 year member of the Minnesota United Methodist Foundation and Capital Facilities Development and Finance Commission. Jim earned an LL.B. and J.D. from the University of North Dakota, and also graduated from The National Trust School, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
Bishop Dyck became an ex-officio director of the Walker Methodist and Walker Methodist Foundation Boards in 2004. She serves as the resident bishop of the Minnesota Area of the United Methodist Church. Before being elected to the episcopacy in July, 2004, she served at Garfield Memorial UMC. She has served the denomination as a district superintendent and pastor of Church of the Redeemer in Cleveland Heights and Faith UMC, Cleveland. Bishop Dyck’s education includes receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University, a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology, a graduate certificate from the University of Geneva/World Council of Churches Ecumenical Institute, and a Doctor of Ministry in Black Church Studies from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.
