A caregiving model that works...

Walker Methodist Health Center employs an interdisciplinary caregiving model whereby each resident receives the dedicated attention of a multi-skilled team consisting of nursing, social service, dietary, therapeutic recreation, rehabilitative therapy, and spiritual care professionals.

Walker’s team works closely with residents and their families to provide care and services that promote dignity, autonomy, and comfort. Specialized support groups are available for resident advocates.

Life-enriching programs

A variety of therapeutic programs are provided to match each resident’s interests and abilities. Services are designed to encourage social interaction, inspire self-expression, stimulate thinking, and enhance self-esteem. There are choices for everyone: pets, music, exercise programs, gardening, discussion groups, dances, intergenerational programs, fine arts programs, family events, and outings…the list is varied and always changing to respond to the needs and interests of residents.

Introduce your family to the Walker family

We encourage families to stay involved in the care and lives of their family members. Private areas may be reserved for family celebrations and meals. The roof-top terrace and courtyard offer pleasant outdoor spaces. Family members are invited to attend the monthly Family Council meetings to discuss common issues and needs.

The Village at Walker

The Village at Walker is a memory care environment at Walker Methodist Health Center. Here, hallways are curving pathways with points of interest resembling a small-town neighborhood. This innovative memory care space engages residents, enhances staff and resident contact, and provides private meeting spaces for family visits.

End-of-Life Care

The Passages program at Walker Methodist Health Center engages a holistic approach to end-of-life care including skilled nursing care for symptom management as well as psychosocial, social, emotional, and spiritual support for residents and their families. Hospice care is coordinated among Walker’s staff, the resident and family, the resident’s physician, and local hospice providers.
